En Garde!

Essence stood on the ranking cliff, staring off it in a sort of daze as classical music bleared in her ears from her new ear phones. She frowned, staring up into the sky with thoughtful crystal blue eyes. Her white armor shone in the sunlight, the only noise coming from the rapier on her hip clinking against her armor.

"...Huh"

She commented blandy, observing the view. It was pretty, that was for sure, but she'd never compare it to her old Kingdom, her old life. Though if she wanted to start anew, she was going to have to rise in the ranks and improve upon herself, ....right?

A swordsman would be seen in the distance carrying two swords with him across his back as he looked up and notice the young one here at the ranking cliff. Looking at the person up and down and then starring into the eyes of the individual. he could tell that she wanted to change and whats better then a ranking exam.

"It's seems that you prepared for this fight young one." The man would say as he moved his hand over to one of the hilts of the swords.

Essence lifted her gaze from the sky and moved it down to the Covenant Member, tilting her head in greeting before sweeping the rest of her body into a regal bow, used for Dukes and Knights and such. She rose again, watching him with steady eyes.

"Indeed I am, good sir. My task in such a thing would be?" she asked, her hand hovering over her rapier instinctivly as she had seen his hand go to his sword, her body already tensed for a fight.

"Very well then, your task for you to obtain a higher rank is for you you to knock both of my swords from my hand. The covenant member would move his hand to his other sword and would unsheathe the two in a slow manner before speaking once more.

"Is that to much to ask child?"

Essence grinned as she leapt down from the cliff to where the member was standing, her armor clanking as she hit the ground in a crouch to absorb most of the force from her landing.

"Not at all, Sir"

She replied with a serious nod, her rapier already in her hand. One, two, three, four. She took a lithe and quick step forward, arching her hand as if she was going in for a clear strike to his mid section before quickly side-stepping, going into a duck and aiming at his hip, her hand twisting so the blade did, a certain light energy building and spiralling around it with the movement.

The man would step back as he let out a regular slash from his blade as a violent gust of wind emerged from his blade forcefully knocking the shinobi back some

"Straight forward attacks such as that would not work on me, you'll need to think more creativly to get at least one of these blades from me." The man would flick his wrist as more violent gusts of wind and rubble came from his sword towrds the shinobi at violent speeds while he waited to see how she would handle such a easy move.

Essence huffed, bowing her head slightly while she kept her eyes alert.

"My apologies. Back in my kingdom such magics where not considered a fair fight..."

She addmitted, waiting, watching. Her white hair ruffled as the sun gleamed off her armor, watching the wind violently gust towards her. At the moment where they would hit her, she side-stepped, vanishing completely.

"Luckily I was able to learn such things..."

The voice came in the form of a whisper in her rankers ear, but if he turned, she would not be there. Suddenly, rapier blades flew from all angles light flittered at, all aimed at the single man. In truth it was only one blade, one girl, running quickly between filters of light, jabbing them all quickly. She had always been a lithe one, and speed had always seemed attainable for her. Reasons why she did not join the Creed. If she already had speed down, why not work with her weapons?

"Impressive." The member would lift up his swords as he began to parry the strikes made with one of his swords as his eyes began zooming around as he matched every blow with a blow from his own blade until he side stepped and grabbed the hilt of the rapier and saw Essence holding onto it tightly

"You have some decent speed, but how is your defense?" With his other hand he would flip the sword so the hilt would be facing upward as he launched an series of jabs at breakneck speeds, learning to see how her reaction time would be from a close combat attack.

Essence's eyes hardened as her rapier was grabbed, and her body tensed, anticipating the attack. Never let the enemy have the upper hand... Prepare yourself for....

And then it came, the many blows. Essence's circular shield had seemed to materialize, though she had really called it to her while she was leaping from light ray to light ray. She tossed the rapier into the air for a moment, and it dissapeared into the light. Her armor was used to sharp blows, and so moving quickly as she had done when running, she raised an arm or her sheild to block each jab, ducking to avoid one then flying back as one caught her in the chest. She skidded to a stop on her knees, and grinned. This was rather fun...

Her rapier then clinked into her hand, fallen from a beam of light, and she jabbed it in the mans direction, grinning.

"En Garde!" she called, the gesture a mixture of a joke and seriousness. The light around Essence began to wane, hiding her within it, though it appeared that she had simply dissapeared. Again.

She waited, waited, waited. Then she charged at him, her armor clanking as she did dissapear into the light, appearing behind her protocor and aiming to smash his head in with her sheild, while her rapier hand remained taught, tense, waiting...

The member simply pivot his feet facing er as a large gust of wind emitted from his body kicking up small chinks of rocks and dist that were on the ground. This would make a great defensive barrier to guard against the shield that came towards his head stopping it in its tracks as h took note of the tensing in her sword hand.

"I see your taking me seriously. Then perhaps i shall to." With that the man would do a series of earth bending movements as several pillars of earth ran through the ground all aiming to impale Essence going at sonic speeds. If not careful she may die or fracture a bone or two if not dodged correctly.
