To See The Stars

*he balanced on his elbow, then turned his body in her direction. For a brief moment, his torso hovered inches over hers. The aroma of him was stronger now, stronger than when he came to tell her some secret. Any further down, he could lay his nose against the crook of her neck and his mouth could kiss her shoulder... In one push, Jening stood himself up, the distinct white shirt in the darkness as he stretched innocently*

"That's good! Perhaps some day Jening will take you out to the beach. Jening heard it's very nice there. For now, Jening wanders elsewhere."

*turning to her, he bent down to grab his flask, which promptly suddenly disappeared behind him. As he had bent down, he took in the momentum and took her hand, kissing the smooth top of her palm. His eyes looked and watched at her, inside they seemed to dance playfully, a nature so common to he himself*

"Hitomi...Jening thinks it was a pleasure to meet you."

Her heart almost leapt from her chest as he hovered just above her, and she shivered a bit as she could almost feel how close he was. His scent was even more overwhelming now, but she was sad when he stood up. "I'll look forward to our next meeting then, Jenning.." When he took her hand, her cheeks flushed the slightest shade of pink. She met his gaze, and Hitomi's heart skipped a beat as she noticed the dancing in his eyes.
"I.. I do agree. The rest of the evening's events that drew me here have dulled in comparison to our chance meeting." She stood up, picking up her heels as she did. Her eyes were sad as she spoke next, "But must we part so soon...?"

*his tall figure stood once again and looked down to meet her eyes. They were full of curiosity and laughter now, not so different from before*

"But Jening's a wanderer and doesn't settle in many places! In fact..."

*suddenly he turned from her face to wince a little, pondering the thought in his head before he spoke it. Reluctantly, Jening said in a despondent tone*

"In fact, Jening can't promise he'll see you again. It was only by chance we met, and it will be by greater chance we will meet again."

*he managed to give a smile as he usually did, though an absurdly weak one. Glancing at her sad golden eyes, he shook his head, shuddering the dark hairs for a second*

"Now that won't do."

*his left hand held her arm steady and his right placed fingers close by her temple to make her blink for a moment. Jening gotten closer and for the last time, his scent was overpowering. And in one slow movement, he bent to gently kiss the space between her left eyelid and the line of her well defined eyebrow, a caress soft like the wind that blew through the most intricate of flowers. There was a pause, then he stepped back. His hands were in his pockets now, and he sported a mischievous and innocent grin. His tone now border lined a playful laugh*

"You were gifted with extraordinary eyes, so don't waste your time on making them as sad as you do now, Hitomi!"

Not meet again? Oh how her heart would ache if that were so. She stared back into his eyes, noting the curiousity. Her eyes were in fact sad, but when he held her arm steady, taking her face in his hand, her eyes widened in surprise, only to close as he drew near. Drunk on his scent as she was, the touch of his lips was exhilairating, sending almost an electric shock through her body.
As he stepped away, Hitomi's heart raced and she opened her eyes to behold his innocent smile. The laughter in his voice sparked a bit of happiness in her eyes. When he complimented her eyes, she blushed a slightly darker shade of pink, the colour sweeping across her high cheekbones. "I thank you, and I shall try my hardest to keep my sadness of our parting from my eyes." She did this quite well, and her eyes took on a laughing quality, as if she were enjoying a joke that only she had heard.

*he paused to look at her in a serious manner, realizing she probably was faking...giving it up though, he gave a smile, then nodded. He sighed in exaggeration, then bowed. The action creased the clothes upon him and he looked up with a subtle delight*

"G'bye Hitomi. Jening wishes a great life for you. If Lady Luck smiles upon you, perhaps you will see Jening once again."

*with that, he walked off a little further from her, the darkness seemed to engulf him like a cloud. And like an apparition, Jening himself disappeared, hidden by the night*

Hitomi was left standing there, and she whispered, "Farewell, Jening.." Though she knew he was already gone. Sadness crept back into her eyes as she donned her heels and turned to go. The slight breeze tusled her dark hair for a moment as she raised her eyes to the sky, silently praying that they'd meet again.
