Ranking Points.

Just a suggestion.


Ranking Points
7th rank: 0 - 100
6th rank: 150 - 250
5th rank: 300 - 400
4th rank: 450 - 550
3rd rank: 600 - 700
2nd rank: 750 - 850
1st rank: 900 - 1000




For every match you win you will get 5 points. once you get 100 points you may take a ranking exam. Failing the ranking exam will result in a 50 point reduction. You would post your victory in a new category called Ranks. You would post your name and your opponents and a link to the thread where the battle took place. A nation leader, 7th or 6th rank will go over the post to make sure you're not lying and will add the point to your points total.

Example I am a 4th level user. If I won 4 battles my total would be 470/550. Once I win enough battle to get to 550 I can post in the ranking rooms.

The 50 Point's between each rank will be awarded for passing a ranking exam.

This will make it a little tougher to rank so players don't rank and then take another ranking exam. As I did in Vescrutia. It will also not allow double ranking up.

i dont think very many people would be ranking up this way.....

What if you can never win battles....?

Not to mention you would have to incoorperate missions and stuff for points too....

IT's a good way to help improve roleplaying skills and yes missions could be included.

Sounds like xp points too......like from video games.....and a rank is leveling up....

Okay, well what if you're someone who avoids fighting, and simply sticks to training? There would have to be very strict codes and such to apply this system, otherwise someone could go and make training topics all over the place, and it would be sort of like cheating because in theory, you could make it so easy for yourself that you would hardly even neeed to think to post.

Also, if you were handing out points per post, one sentance could be all they needed, and no one would be there to call them out. I for one wouldn't enjoy sifting through a whole bunch of threads to make sure people were being fair.

Another thing to consider. This system would encourage a lot more godmodding, just because of the increased stakes placed on each match, becauuse I know eventually, everyone will either be extremely power hungry OR other people could be so fed up with losing because they played by the rules and took damage and all that they would start taking out their anger on others in fights. It would be an entire agressive spiral that would no doubt ruin Escellsia the way it did Vescrutia, in my opinion.

there is no points per post. it's win a point. lose no point. and the person checking the battle over will determine whether foul play was used.

What Hitomi was saying at one point though was what if someone avoids fighting and does training topics? Someone could easily be mad at this whole system if this were to be put in place.

That's the issue i believe Hitomi was trying to emulate, what about those who don't battle often and instead most of the time train alone? It would a bit unfair to them. Am i correct Hitom?

It would encourage users to interact more.

And what if users aren't on enough....? It would take them forever to rank up.....


I want to say another point is that, just because you have a certain number of points, doesn't mean your good enough for that rank, or in the opposite senario, what if your like really good, like 5th rank material, yet you have to gather points and rank up by each level....some people's characters can skip ranks when they take exams....quite easily actually.....SO, they would be stuck as a low rank, with high abilities....? That defeats the purpose of a ranking exam....the point of one is to assess your abilities, and give you a rank accordingly.....not how many fights you've won.....

oh, and who says that just cuz you lost all of your fights, you didn't learn anything....? Shouldn't both people get points...? The winner would get more....obiviously....

Hey I've never won a fight. And I know how not winning feels. But it doesnt stop me from keep going.

General your not regarding the issue here though. the issue isn't the matter that you always lose matches the matter is this system doesn't award the people who lose yet still learn. And that it doesn't award those who train alone. In these ideas you have to consider everything.

In total there are three potential ways of training on esc, one is winning the spar fights or actual fights like u say gets rewarded, second is losing the spar fights (which even though they lose they do see mistakes which they learn from), and third is those who train alone which still should get points.

By your idea its only the winners of those spars that get the points whereas the losers and lone trainers are left in the dark, tell me how fair is that exactly?

could you suggest an amount of points a loss and a completed training thing would get?

I dunno personally I think its good the way it is now with ranking exams but this system could be put in for some sort of legendary weapon kinda thing that levels. But either way its not up to me it's up to the admins

I agree with Miles in that the ranking system is pretty good the way it is.....this point system might get confusing, not to mention the people that might try to be dishonest about it.....So, not trying to kill your Idea, but it would need to be improved more to the point that it makes the current ranking system seem like the gutter for it to go for me.....no hard feelings....

Mm Im not spending the time to read all of this, but I do think it a bit unnessecary and Id agree with what was posted already.
