Mini-Banners

I was considering something to spice up the homepage, and adding 30-pixel high mini-banners to represent each of the landscapes. Ideally this would serve to give us a better, cleaner look, but one might say that it could cause some clutter. So, i'll post a few examples of them, and you all tell me what you think of the idea:

Frozen Mountains:




Ancient Cemetery:




The Ashlands:




Damp Caverns:




The Pit:




Decimated Ruins:

It would make the page 3 times the length leaving a lot of scrolling down. As well as eat up load time for users with low bandwidth and crappy internet connections.

But thats just one view.

True, but from a different perspective, for people too lazy to read the descriptions under each place, a visual reference would prove very helpful when preparing a post.

I like the idea alot....definitely adds something new and inventive.....

I like the idea. And I like pictures, I am a visual person afterall.

Perhaps try and post up a couple in the landscapes? Cause I have to see it there to really get an idea of what itll be like xD.

OK I do likey. The only thing I can think of is... Are you gunna have one for ALL of the landscapes or just some of them? Cause I think itll look...mismatched? if only some of them have mini-banners.

I agree with Taz. If it can't be on them all, then it may be best to leave it be.

Yes they will be on all of them as I find appropriate images to represent them. Worst case is that we'll have 1 or 2 without a banner by the end of the week.
