A realm both vast and mysterious, largely unexplored by the people who inhabit it. While Guilds build men into masters and Nations continue their disputes, one would be a fool to assume that it is Kings who rule these lands...

This website is now officially closed. All topics must be finished, and all character must register on the New Website All ranking exams will be finished and ranked by a seperate proctor, and all money will be reset to $200 for everyone in order to make way for the new currency system, coming soon.
We've been getting a good amount of questions regarding the move and the time skip that the move will created for all characters. So here are a few general questions, along with their answers, and of course feel free to post any more concerns you have here.
Q: What abilities or weapons will we be able to add or expand on?
A: Not a whole lot, honestly. I'd say a few improvements on what you already have, but not by a lot, as well as maybe one or two new techniques. Let's not do a major overhaul, because that would then disrupt your rank, which will not change in the move. As for weapons, …

Subject: Alyss' "Weapons" by copy pasta Sat Jan 09, 2010 6:37 pm
This is literally just a copy and paste from previous forums that I used Alyss in. >> So what I cheated. T__T
The Arts
Since in the real martial art world, once you're a black belt or a master in any martial art, you have to register yourself offically as a weapon, so will Alyss. Alyss is a great and agile close quarters combat fighter and a majority of her attacks will be by a mixture of martial arts. She is well-rounded in plenty martial arts...and there will probably be more editted in this list. Here are the arts she knows of:
Karate: Shotokan : Shotokan is based mainly upon hard techniques versus soft techniques. This style is shown by Hitomi from DOA and a small amount in Hayate as well. The video below is from the Champion Gaming Series Tournament from 2008 and the reason why I picked this video is because the excellent use of Hitomi by Vanessa. If you're looking to just looking for a quick look at an example, you could go on Youtube to find crappier uses of Hitomi by other players.
Aikido: Aikido is a defensive martial art, usually consisting of using the other opponent's attacks to counter by throws, grapples, holds, flips, etc. It can be very damaging to the opponent by using these moves, esspecially with intense drops of gravity. Using grabs at small bones, such as the wrist, finger, or shoulder bones, Alyss is able to use put opponents in holds to get an advantage or stop a fight. Though Aikido is a very good martial art, it's downfall is that there is no such thing as an attack with Aikido. The moveset is based upon counters and there is no such thing as a punch or a kick in this martial art.
Xi Yi Quan: This bare handed style is a very strong form of Chinese martial arts. It is performed with linear movements and explosive strength. If in roleplay, Alyss performs a punch with Xi Yi Quan, it means the air compression applied in the hand is VERY strong and if hit with this extremely powerful move can be quite fatal. I knew about this martial art before finding out that Eliot from DOA uses it...but since I couldn't find a video with REAL people doing this martial art, I have to use another DOA reference to my distaste. =/
Also note that Alyss wears large brown boots with a metal heel, piercing damage if you will. These are specifically for shields and barriers, so don't be surprised if she decides to use her legs more once you've got one up.
More to come in the Martial Arts section, I just can't find a specific video.
Light Weapons
The only thing Alyss carries so far is a knife at her waist. These are knives meant for both throwing, parrying, and agile knife play. Alyss, along with martial arts, is prominent with knife play and she only has a personal knife of her own so far. Her personal knife is a Aikuchi Style (very high carboned weapons) forged Moroha (or double bladed) Tanto.
Ikazuchi Gloves
Alyss now wears specific gloves, the Ikazuchi Special. These were modified version of her leather gloves, now having light stainless steel. The guard is specially made with thick layers of stainless steel, being about to handle sharp cuts by large swords. The fabric used is porous to keep the hands cool, yet durable to withstand tears. Most special about these gloves is the aspect of fine wires that are on the outside. Since now the aspect of gaining the manipulation of electricity was given to Alyss, she is able to infuse this ability into her gloves, giving her the ability for martial arts to do thunder damage. The damage is most through her punches, however with the added edge, the electricity involved disrupts the nerve system in that area and runs like a shockwave. That area may not be usable for some time, depending on her rank.
Also note that since electricity is infused, the lightest graze can still damage and affect the area.
