Nobody's Useless

I've noticed that it always helps to have a story arc that affects the entire site. It's interesting, and people love conflict. But I have noticed that on Ves, these Site-wide story arcs are well, useless. I have noticed, to my dismay, that most of the story arcs on Ves are solved by the same 3 people. Noboby else gets involved. Basically these same people (you know who they are), don't put teams together, don't use tactic, nothing. Basically they just go in and sling overpowered crap at whoever until they are dead. While everyone else on site just carry on as if nothing is happening. Why? Because they don't feel included. Because those same 3 people want to show off how strong they are, they don't give anyone else to showcase what they can do. Now, some of you are probably thinking that Xzystins is only saying this because his new character is Genin level. No, that's not it at all. I just think that when you have a world-wide story arc, EVERYONE should be on their toes. There should be a sense of urgency. People shouldn't be pussyfootin around in Ramen shops while the world could possibly come to an end. But, the lower ranks don't want to get involved because they feel useless, powerless. While those higher-ups (again, you know who I'm talking about) pull out their dicks and sling them around for all to see, the lower ranks are deemed unimportant. So I came up with an idea to make everyone, more or less, feel important.

I think, that each world wide story arc should be split up into ranked missions, in which each mission is important to the success of finding a solution to the story. A person of any rank can join any ranked mission. This means that a genin-level can join an S-Ranked mission (unless their leader gives them specific orders not to do so), but as we know, chances are highly likely that they will die. Anyway, we assign a task that must be completed in a certain ranked mission. Each mission has a different task. It sounds complicated so I'll just use examples to hopefully clear some things up.

Let's say that all the guilds and such decided to ally together to fight some evil villain. However, that villian is in his city, protected by a whole bunch of crap and so getting to him won't be easy. First of all, he has shield generaters casting an extremely protective shield. The shield is so powerful that even a Kage level ninja would have a hard time breaking it. There is also a machine that infinitely clones Jounin level ninja or whatnot. Basically, our tasks would look some like this

D-Ranked Mission: Disable the shield generators.
C-Ranked Mission: Protect the shinobi disabling the generators.
B-Ranked Mission: Disable the cloning machine
A-Ranked Mission: Stall the infinite wave of Jounin so that comrades have a chance to disable cloning machine.
S-Ranked Mission: Destroy the Main Antagonist

By doing something similiar to this, it gives everyone something important to do. Genin-level shinobi can feel just as important as the Kages or whoever is fighting the Main Antagonist. Because with those shields up, that means that a Kage might have to use up too much chakra just to disable it by brute force. And then when it comes time to fight the big boss, that Kage is screwed because he is low on chakra. Also, if you finish your mission before someone else, you CAN jump into another mission. But this is dependent on proximity though. In my example, all of this is taking place in the same city. So once the Genin/Chunin take care of the shields, they can run and help the Jounin/Anbu level take care of the clones and the cloning machine (still, you must be mindful of your rank). However, if the location of each mission is too far away (this will be the case most of the time, to avoid 10 extra people jumping into a certain mission and crowding/slowing things up), then you are not allowed to go to other missions. So uh, yea, this is my suggestion. Bye...

IVE BEEN SAYING THIS SHIT FOR THE ABSOLUTE LONGEST!!!! No offense to you, Xzystin--er, Kazujin, its just that when I say this stuff on Vessy, they THINK they are doing it, so they don't change anything, but as we all know, they don't. The Zetsumei thing was SUPPOSED to have everyone involved, like how in Naruto Akatsuki can strike anywhere at anytime, but nope, only the kages are fighting, as usual. I agree with you when you say they luv to wave their ego's around for everyone to see. And I also say this is an excellent idea, suggestion, whatever.

Only, a few problems are in this, but these problems are not from what you said, but solely because of how common humans are: Activity. When one person isn't active, the whole damn event slows down, people lose interest, it drops in excitement, and no one likes that, cause when its kicked back up again, no one will want to be bothered with it anymore because they found something else already to satisfy their boredom on this place.

Maybe to suppress this problem, who ever the main antagonist are, at least 2 other people (Of whom you trust or in the Mod/Admin category) should also be liable to this character. This would increase the chances of someone who is playing this role to be online. But as such, those people should have a secondary way to communicate, so they are all posting in the same way. For example, lets say Gig was an antag here, and me and Alyss are liable for this character. And for the hell of it, When I use Gig he is more sadistic and masochistic, but when Alyss uses him (no offense) he is all cuddly and cutesy with his wording. The people using the character must be on the same page with the personality, ability, the same motives, so that when the other person uses the said character, they know where to pick up on. This will and SHOULD be used in my opinion because school is starting, and whoever the antags are, we can expect them to not be on as frequently.

YES. ANOTHER THING THAT I THINK SEVERAL OF US HAVE PROBLEMS WITH. I hate how the kages are the only ones really ever involved in this crap. Xzy... Kazu... is exactly right when he says how the lower ranks feel. Ive been there.

I love the idea of different ranked missions to solve the problem. Its much more organized, gets everyone involved, makes much more sense then running amuck around the village for no reason fighting shit...

I also agree with Rose though, that a couple days of inactivity or people all being on at the wrong time, etc can really slow it down and kill the excitement. And I like the idea about multiple people playing the same antags to try and resolve that problem.

I think that both of those ideas together, and we can manage events much better than on Ves. Thanks you two~.

Bravo, truly. You've hit the goldmine of what many of our complaints back on Vescrutia, and then solved the flaws involved with doing so. This is something that's been on my mind for a while, but I never imagined anything as elaborate as what you came up with. This is also pretty much recisely why the only two 7-star members are Rose and Rion, while the rest of the leaders are 5-star or lower.

Yes, we will implement this system starting with the first main event that happens on this site, and organize things accordingly.

I figured this was pretty...how should I say it. Explanatory? Of course it was one of the problems we had.

I noticed when I came back to Ves several months ago, most of you guys were sitting ducks. And while we're hittin the tavern we're all "What? Oh Zeik came back? lolkay. Nothin to do with me". Cause we're all pretty much "too low ranked". They were just going on with a personal plot, with only a circle of friends while we were supposed to watch like it was some kind of movie.

But I like how you went a little further with this one, by putting in some story. Cause it's true, in any REAL village, even the smaller ones will have jobs to do which are important. It's similar to a friend of mine who used to say. Even with a cook, sous chef, waitresses, etc, the most important person in the operation is the person who you think is the lowliest: the dish washer. The restaurant cannot run without the plates and the silverware clean. In this sense, the higher ranked characters cannot get through without the shield generators down. In the end it's an operation of the whole site itself.
