Claymore training

Having no idea when 1400 hours was, Taz would wonder on over to the Beach and laze about, waiting for Jack to show up whenever the hell he felt like it.

She was early. Or she just didn't know what time he gave her. Either way, she was here now, and appeared to be ready to go. Jack would make an entrance by leaping off a hill to where Taz was, making quite an impact with the sand.

"So ye didn't chicken out, eh?"

In one motion, he unsheathed his massive green claymore from his back, spinning it a bit in his hand before holding it to his side.

"Hehe, I wouldnt chicken out if I was fighting a T-Rex instead~."

She stuck her tongue out playfully. She didnt jump when he landed in front of her, she much expected hed make such a dramatic entrance. She stood to face him, taking the sword from her back and holding it down but in front of her and slightly towards him.

"Ready to go?"

"No, and you're not ready either."

He rested his own claymore on his shoulder, staring her down again, head tilted a bit to the side.

"What's with that posture? Do you even know the weight of that thing?"

He pointed to a large boulder on the far end of the beach, somewhat nearby. It was obviously made of some other metal other than just plain rock, and looked very sturdy.

"Hit that thing as many times as it takes to decimate it."

She stared right back at him, defiance clear in her eyes. Her arm dropped, hanging limp, her hand grasping the sword extra tightly. She stood solid, refusing to move.

"No. I wanna learn to fight, not hit some rock like a toddler. Just cause Im a woman, doesnt mean I cant fight like a man. Stop treating me like a wuss!"

Her eyes never leaving him, she silently slid her sword to grip it with both hands, clutching it tightly. Her hands were positioned on the handle to one on top and one on bottom. Very quickly (or quickly to Taz at least) she launched her claymore at Jack, aiming for his midsection.

Without skipping a beat, Jack made a single swing with his own claymore, sending Taz's flying at full speed, just grazing her face, and buried into the boulder he had pointed out. He was not pleased.

"Don't give me that bullshit. You're cuttin' the rock 'cause your posture ain't right. Now get movin,' maggot!"

She never took her eyes off him, never flinched, even when her claymore came flying at her face. She forced herself to speak to the oaf, her words coming out as solid as cannon balls.

"I dont NEED a set stance, I prefer to fight without one. Screw my posture, I fight how I want."

She slowly walked over to where her sword was stuck in the boulder, her eyes still glaring at him. She wiggled if a little bit, then managed to pry it out of the rock. Once she freed the sword, she pointed it at him again.

"Now lets pretend this rock is your head."

She swung her sword in a large and potentially powerful downward slash, hoping to cut a good size chunk out of the bounder that she reallu was wishing it was Jacks head.

"And what're ye gonna do about that recoil?"

He noticed that her slashes with it were very big and very powerful; which was effective, but..

"If that kinda swing misses yer enemy, they caught ya like a sittin' duck!"

She thought for a second, trying to process what hed just told her. She then unwedged the sword from the stone once more, whacking it again, then using the sword to hold her weight, did a scissor kick up in the air before landing and gashing the stone again.

"If that happens then I can do that~."

So she was capable of learning; alright then. Now for something else.

"Well then, lessee of ye can crush this rock here in one blow?"

She'd have to harness whatever power was in her claymore now, if she even hoped to achieve this. It was up to her now to find out how to unlock it.

Shed attack the rock once more, now using more force to attempt to smash the rock to bits. When she ended up only cutting into the rock partway, shed stare at it for a moment, exasperated. Pausing to take a few breaths, shed try again a couple more times, with the same result.

"Learn how to use that sword, lass!"

He stood cross-armed, staring down at her still trying at the rock. He knew as well as Skye did what the claymore she had was capable of, she just had to realize it herself.

"Ye have some kinda fuel for it, afterall.."

What did he mean by fuel? She really didnt know, so she continued to hack away at the stone. Shed be taking out larger pieces of it each time, pausing after each strike to catch her increasingly weary breath. She was strong, but the weight of her weapon would get to anyone after the speed and force of her repetitions.

She stopped hacking at the stone, taking a short break so she wouldnt run out of energy. Fuel...What did he mean by fuel? When she felt she was ready to try again, she raised the blade once more, this time focusing on it, instead of on the action. It hit her that there was alot of potential in that sword of hers... Why hadnt she noticed it before? She gripped the blade more firmly, then in one swoop, bashed it into the rock.

As she swung for the last time, the entire claymore emitted a bright red glow, and in one swing that glow was thrown from the blade onto the rock, taking a blob-ish form, smashing it into pieces. Afterwards, the blade returned to its original dull color.

Jack smirked, leaning on his own massive sword in waiting for that moment.

"Finally get it, eh? Now whatcha gonna do~?"
