A New Home For Linnea

"And we'll have candy machines! And a big puffy pillows to lay on and a HUUUUUGE zoo where I can pet animals!"

Linnea said to her brother while following the servant girl who was leading them down a large and majestic hall. It was still bright outside, the sunlight shining in through the windows. She was enthusiastically telling her brother of the upcoming plans she had for the guild since she had won the election, to the shock and dismay of their servant girl companion. She didn't expect the new guild leader to be a child...at this point she would have to worry.

"There'll be big bears and zebras and of course rabbits. I love rabbits.."

The small girl said, blushing. She did not say anything for a moment, her only thoughts were being surrounded by rabbits of every color...

"Anyway! What do you think? It's a good plan right?"

"Linnea..."

He began, not sure whether his sister was serious or joking. Considering her nature, she could be serious. Pausing, the blue haired man looked over the servant girl and had to smile. She looked clearly worried and was not as talkative the minute Linnea began rambling about her future plans on Academy. The poor girl perhaps thought Linnea was thinking the Academy was another playground.

"Linnea, you know this is not a place to play. This is a big job for you."

Thinking to himself, he began wondering what were the most appropriate things for a guild to have.

"Have you thought of a place to store weapons? Or the best way to teach other people magick?"

"Ah...I thought of it. We could ask Sedgar, one of the experienced blacksmiths in the mountains to build us some that are attuned to energy patterns. We have enough funds to supply a large room full of the latest technology and equipment. I know a person we can try to talk to him with."

Her attitude had suddenly shifted, her voice that was bubbly turned serious. Her usual walk with bounce had stopped to a steady pace and her eyes grew more thoughtful (and not thoughtless). Even the servant girl who was leading them nearly completely turned around, actually believing it must have been someone else who was following them. The trace of a child like Linnea was gone for the moment.

"As for energetic studies...."

Linnea sighed, looking out the window to think for a moment.

"We'll have certain teachers that are more experienced in a certain field to teach the younger and less experienced. That way, we can rise together as a guild and be much better reinforced."

As they were passing a courtyard filled with pink cherry blossoms, another servant woman was passing. Immediately she bowed to them, raising her head after. They stopped to address her.

"Miss Redhunt, it's a nice day out, please enjoy."

"Thank you.."

"My name is Aria. If there's anything I can get for you, don't hesitate to ask."

Linnea was in the middle of smiling when she stopped, glancing away thoughtfully.

"....Actually. There is something you can get me."

The servant woman perked at her tone, listening intently.

"Yes?"

Linnea looked at her with sharp hazel eyes, but still gleaming with cheerfulness.

"Please find a team of members who specialize in defense energy and send them to my office at 3 PM? I need to speak to them about organizing a large shield around the whole guild made of a number of components and elements. The event with the Eclipse will never happen again."

Her cheerful smile while saying the words was nearly eerie. Her mouth formed into a small o, as she remembered something else.

"Oh and do make sure there is a Shrew in there."

"Y-Yes! I'll do it immediately."

"Thank you very much, Aria."

"Excuse me."

Aria said, quickly bowing and then speeding down the opposite direction. Suddenly Linnea's playful nature returned and she skipped ahead of Cassius and the servant girl.

"I can't wait to make my zoooo! :'D"

*Miles would knock on the door with an offer hearing linnea won the elections*

A maidservant would open the door a few moments later, where the Linnea sat in her office chair sideways, her legs hanging off the armchair. She was looking at some documents inquisitively. As she heard the door open, her hazel eyes looked over to see who it was. Immediately her face lit up.

"M-Miles!"

"congratulations i heard you won the elections"

*Miles would say smiling walking in*

"Yeah I did!"

Lin swung her legs over to sit up straight to greet him. Her smile was bright even if the responsibility weighed.

"It's been fun so far...oh! What brings you here all the way to Academy?"

"to congratulate you and offer a suggestion as well. since you arn't exactly proficient in combat last time i checked and the guilds have been attacked before as well as nation leaders my idea is to have someone act as a bodyguard"

*miles would say and continue further*

"normally i would offer but since this is academy i would suggest someone from this guild"

She only smiled happily, grateful for his concern.

"Thank you, but the whole process is already in motion. Soon all guild leaders will have guardians! 6 of them! Isn't that great?"

Linnea laughed a little, spinning in her large desk chair. It was enormous compared to her size.

"true it is great. right now i am in the running for covenant leader so the guardians will be something i should know about"

*miles would say*

"Yes it is. And the greatest thing is we get to pick whoever we want from any guild! H-Hey who knows I might pick you afterall Miles!"

She said happily, relaxing in the desk chair again.

((Those will be implemented soon in the guild, perhaps during the first term for sure. But there are a lot of kinks to work out still the rings are not the biggest priority. ))

"how exactly does this guardian thing work? i heard nothing about it? info was probably sent out while i was in that coma" *Miles would say*

"Well...there are 6 guardians you see..."

From her drawer suddenly came out colorful pegs. Where they came from, no idea. She spread them out on the empty(for now) desk. There were 7 and all in different colors. Linnea placed them in a line.

"Each is a guardian of a ring. That ring is very important. Not only does it show that they are the guardian of that guild leader, but it also amplifies powers. Each ring represents certain things. Like for the Academy...we use the elements: Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Dark, Light and Carbon. Each have their different roles in the guilds and have their personalities."

With one hand she pushed the red peg away from the line towards Miles.

"For example...fire is brash and always in the frontlines. He or she is the person who defends the guild to great heights and has the highest passion."

With another hand, she pushed a yellow peg out of line and towards him.

"But air...you can't tame air. The more you try to tame the wind, the quicker it retaliates against you. An air guardian doesn't fight because they are bound as a guardian...but rather because the outcome is what they will it to be."

Linnea leaned back in the chair after giving a very brief explanation.

"Usually guild leaders want to choose the ring for the best person who fits that role and personality."

(i read it in short version a family is the guild leader and 6 guardians and each guardian has a ring that powers one aspect of them correct?)

"smart. i shall choose my guardians wisely then if i do win the election"

*miles would already be planning ahead thinking who would be good guardians*

"Yeah! There are so many candidates.."

She grew excited just thinking about it. Grinning, she laughed a little.

"I can't wait."

"last time i checked i believe it was at a tie i believe"

*miles recalled thinking it over*

"but i'm sure even if i lose things will work out"

"Of course. Everyone has a role in everything."

She said. A maidservant came through a doorway, bowing to both of them.

"Miss Redhunt, would you like anything to eat or drink for yourself and your handsome guest?"

The maidservant was young and absolutely was looking at Miles in a certain manner. But Linnea didn't seem to see it.

"Ah..Miles? Did you want anything in particular?"

"ummm"

*miles would look over his mental drink mixture list*

"i'll have a salty dog"

(and yes i still have that cocktail mixture book XD)

*miles would recall that drink mixture*

"S-salty...dog.."

The maidservant said slowly. She stood there not comprehending for a moment.

"It's an alcohol, Aria!"

Linnea said quickly, at which the maidservant quickly gave a sigh of relief that she said it.

"Yes, we have a bartender downstairs who can mix it up for you quickly. Anything for you Miss Redhunt?"

"Mm.................."

Lin thought for a second, a finger to her chin.

"I'll have...do we have any pound cake?!"

She said excitedly. Aria looked at her in surprise; She still couldn't get used to Lin's spontaneous enthusiasm.

"Yes we do Miss Redhunt."

"I'll have some of that and...milk. That'd be awesome, thanks!"

Linnea said so cheerfully, she might as well have had flowers and sparkles surrounding her as a background. Aria smiled a little a nodded, grabbing a tray from the shelf in the room she came out of.

"Right away."

And off she went. Linnea turned to Miles then..

"So Miles...what do you have planned?"

"are you talking about what do i planned if i win the election? or what do i ahve planned personally?"

*miles would say waiting for his salty dog*

"Personally! Even if you win the election you're still free to come hang out right?"

Happily she put the pegs away in the drawer.

"We'd be guild leaders together! Guild allies too, haha!"

"with how well i plan things and being able to make clones split doing jobs for me i'm sure i will have free time"

*miles chuckled*

"shapeshifting has its benefits"

"Oooh...lucky you. I'm sure it won't be too hard of a job, being a guild leader."

Linnea said optimistically...though...she knew it was far from true. She would have to get used to it was all. She'd have time.

"We should go to the beach next time with tons of people! It'd be fun."

"true we could have a beach party and i could mix some drinks"

*miles would say still having memorized that entire book of cocktail mixtures*

On cue, the maidservant returned with what they had waited, placing the tray upon the desk. The smell of sweet bread wafted in with it. The poundcake looked delicious but very large and much more than what Linnea could eat.

"Yay! Cakey!"

Linnea dug, cutting a slice with the knife and placing it on the small platter on the tray. She took the platter putting it upon the desk in front of her.

"Miles? Would you like some poundcake? Or some milk? I'll share."

But his drink was in a glass made for him on the side, perfectly prepared.

"Thank you Aria."

"Your welcome Miss Redhunt."

The maidservant turned away but Linnea called out.

"Wait! Aria...don't call me Miss Redhunt. It reminds me too much of home and dad. I don't like it...call me Linnea, okay?"

The maidservant was dumbfounded for a moment and then slowly nodded, excusing herself to the back room. Linnea grinned, taking a small bite of the cake. Suddenly tears came to her eyes.

"It's delicious!! God if I can have this kind of food all the time, then I made no mistake in being guild leader...!"
