Linnea's Quarters

"1,2...1,2...1,2..there!"

*with a final huff, Linnea set the large egg down on her bed. It gave a tiny bounce, then rolled against the pillow. The silk blue shawl dressed around the egg fell around it, revealing the small brown specks that dotted the shell. Sighing, she leaned against the wall, tired. This was the first time she managed to come into her room. She spent most of her days in the clinic, but today she decided to bring the egg "home". The person at the desk was hardly helpful, just pointing the direction to her room, handing her the key when he knew she had large, delicate luggage, and then peacefully returned to reading...whatever the hell he was reading*

'Jerk...'

*after taking some breaths, Linnea finally mustered enough energy to lay herself down next to the egg where she examined the smooth shell. There seemed to be a "birthmark", or something like it, in the shape of a small swirl. Her fingertip slowly traced it as she wondered what was hidden behind the thin shell. Lin lay a hand upon the egg, closing her eyes. And like an x-ray she felt the swirl of liquids, the soft beat of a heart. Whatever it was stirred, quiet and patient for it's time to come. Lin felt the pores of the egg, drinking in the oxygen around her. She blinked her eyes open, an idea. Placing both hands upon the egg, the gold-white energy flowed around the egg, encompassing it completely. She heard a soft squeak inside, but Lin coaxed it. The energy soaked inside the pores, slowly drinking in the honey like magic. The effect helped keep the egg warm internally, even if it wouldn't be externally. Linnea put a coat of her energy around the egg anyway, making sure the pores wouldn't soak it in. It would act as a makeshift cushion if dropped or something that threatened it crack it. After she was done, she draped the blanket around the egg to keep it warm*
