Requesting a Training Session

Hitomi stood in a plain white room, her own dress a dark blue today, without too many layers to it. She also wore flat shoes, instead of her usual heels. She wanted to be able to move during this training session. For awhile now, Hitomi had grown more and more tired of being as helpless as she was. Though trouble hadn't come to call as of yet, Hitomi had no doubts that sooner of later, she would find herself in a situation that she couldn't handle. Any sort of conflict at her current level of strength would prove disasterous -- For her.

She thought about all this as she waited, hoping that someone would find her here. This was a place of learning, was it not? Hopefully, someone could teach her something more about how to use her magic in combat, and how to refine how much magic she used to achieve her goals. She couldn't be completely out of magic from just one spell.

In the room sat Cecil, cross legged and eyes closed. A violet aura surrounded him as he focused, unmoving in his place. This was the meditation room afterall, why not use it for what it was named for? Cecil was so deep in his meditation that he hadn't even noticed the girl step in, and simply continued to sit and focus on his own.

Hitomi noticed the other in the room soon after she had entered, but paused, unsure as to whether or not she should approach him. She bit her lip, her golden eyes showing her uncertainty. She sighed, and sat down not too far from the other in the room, already knowing the method of meditation that the elders back home had taught her. She centered herself around the core of her being, and a golden light flared, her magic being reawakened. The light pulsed quite brightly, though Hitomi, who sat with her eyes closed and breathing deep, didn't notice.
Perhaps that got his attention...

As the flash beamed next to him, Cecil launched out of his sitting position, jumping several feet away with a loud gasp. Such light quickly overpowered his own, shattering all means of concentration. Monocle dangling from his collar, he looked with wide eyes at the girl.

"My word, what sort of magister are you?"

Hitomi's eyes snapped open as she heard him gasp, just as startled by him as he was of her. She stood up quickly, rearranging her skirts nervously. "Wh-what sort...?" She asked, her confusion quickly overpowering the nervousness in her voice, "Why, I haven't a clue."

He cocked his head at her, as the glow immediately dissipated as she stood. Perhaps she lacked control of her abilities? Well, that would be such a waste if it were the case...

"A-ah.. Um, there was a glow coming from you, a few seconds ago..."

Maybe that rang some kind of a bell..?

"Oh! From my meditation?" She tilted her head, "I suppose that would be my magic..." She looked down at her feet, ashamed, "But my training went unfinished, so I'm afraid I only have the basics of spell casting... Maybe even less then the basics." Sighing, the toyed with the pendant at her neck, the limitation that someone had put upon her power. Of course, Hitomi didn't realize it's signifigance. To her, it was just a gold piece of jewlery.

"Hum."

He paced for a bit, wondering what to do. He'd never been much of a teacher, mainly due to his clumsiness, but perhaps now was the right time...

"Well why don't you show me what you can do... and I'll see if I can help?"

He fingered his monocle nervously.

Hitomi looked back up, and nodded, "I'm afraid I tire easily after just a few modifications or transmutations, but..." She closed her eyes, concentrating. Dark scales began to cover her skin, bony wings that covered a huge span sprouting from her back. Her form was lithe, and perfectly toned for her size. Opening her eyes, their golden depths had changed, resembling more of those of a wolf then human. With only a few moments to let Cecil take in the changes, Hitomi shifted back to her original form, panting from effort,
".. I can model myself to most any design I choose... That was one of my forms, one that I commonly use if I get into trouble..." Her eyes then noticed the monocle that he fingered nervously. She looked around, noticing that there was quite a bit of stray sand around the room, missed when the room was last swept.
She extended an arm, and focused once more. The grainulets of sand slowly started to gather in her palm, forming the shape of his monocle, a little bit bigger, however. Using a bit more of her energy, the sand melded itself into glass. Almost out of magic now, Hitomi tiredly waved her hand over the glass model of the other spellcaster's monocle, and the imperfections vanished. It might not be to the strength of his prescription, but she turned up this way and that in her hand, before holding it up. "Sand to glass is one of my favorite transmutations, mostly because it is easy to understand. Other substances I can transmute to something that is related to it, as well. Water to ice, for example, or even rock to gem...
"However..." Hitomi shifted her stance quickly, swaying slightly as her eyes were unfocused, "It takes a lot out of me to do such..." She blinked slowly, shaking her head as her world seemed to spin. "Natural energy sources are what replenish what strength I cannot regain on my own..."

Inspecing the repaired eyepiece, Cecil paced once more.

"Such talent, yet no way to replenish yourself easily... Such a sad state of things..."

He ducked a hand into his cloak, rustling with what sounded like metal and glass objects in his many pockets.

"You said your energy came from natural sources?"

"Yes, from natural sources... I draw strength from the life force that runs through nature." Hitomi replied, watching him curiously, wondering what it was that he was searching for. Now that the glass had been fully transmuted, it required no energy from Hitomi anymore. She had to concentrate then on staying upright, as she felt dreadfully tired at that moment.

"Well that is quite the hinderance.. Aha~"

He found what he was looking forin his cloak, pulling out a small silver key. As he twirled it around his finger it began to glow a deep violet color.

"This may feel.. strange, but I'm sure it'll help immensely.

He moved towards her, aiming the key straight for her chest.

"Just tell me when you're ready, dear"

She shied away from him at first, her golden gaze wary, but allowed him to approach after a moment. She fixed her eyes on the key, perplexed as to what he was planning. "I... I suppose I'm ready." She nodded once, then held still.

A glint appeared in his monocle and he smiled slightly, the key glowing with a more twisting aura of violet.

"Good then."

He lunged forward and plunged the key deep into Hitomi's chest. It sank in and merged with her energy, a black and purple vortex appearing around it. The key wasn't exactly piercing skin, it was more melding with her energy. The aura spread through her body, pulsing, until Cecil turned the key 90 degrees clockwise, like opening a door.

As that happened, a burst of bright gold and purple shone from the girl, as energy was reconfigured. The force pushed Cecil back several feet and the key dissipated, now one with Hitomi. After the process was finished and the glowing had died down, Cecil smiled and spoke.

"There, you've been unlocked~"

Hitomi was still in shock from the entire ordeal, and she placed a hand over where the key had plunged. She looked down, expecting to see some gaping hole, one which hadn't announced itself yet with searing pain. To her surprise, she was fully unharmed, and only felt a little odd, and not to mention stronger. After a few moments, she finally found her voice again. "Unlocked? What do you mean by that...?"

He got up quickly and dusted himself off, before realizing he had indeed forgotten to tell her just what he did..

"Aha, well it's really quite simple... I just opened your energy up to new sources! Meaning.. it can be regenerated just like physical strength and stamina, so you've got a lot more to spend now~"

"Oh! Thank-you! Such a favor will not go forgotten. I am forever greatful to you, Mr. ...?" Hitomi trailed off, realizing she actually didn't know his name.

He smiled warmly at her, eyes closed and turned upward in a smile. He began to bow as he introduced himself..

"Nightwing, m'lady. Cecil Nigh--- gah!"

He lost his balance entirely and fell over, face first to the ground. Cecil was never very good at making himself look good...

Hitomi rushed forward, "A pleasure to meet you, Cecil Nightwing. I am Hitomi... I am forbidden from using my given family name." She sighed, offering him a hand to help him up, a hesitant answering smile spreading across her features.

"Forbidden..?" A mass of ideas leapt through his head as he tried to think of why it would be forbidden, but he eventually shrugged it off.

"The pleasure is all mine.."

Now back on his feet, he pulled out a small wooden stick from his belt, twirling it around his fingers.

"Now that you're all recharged and such, how about a small sparring round?"

"Ah..." Hitomi hesitated here as well. "I haven't much training in the martial arts, or things of that sort..." She looked down, ashamed, "But I shall try."
Scales ripped over her body once more, her wings returning. One of her arms morphed to a dull stretch of bone that made up her entire forearm, that she could use for combat. Her golden eyes flicked about the room briefly before settling back on Cecil. She shifted her stance slightly, bending at the knees, ready to spring, with her weapon-like arm held out, ready infront of her.

"O-oh my, um.."

He was immediately intimidated by her dragon-like appearance, but did his best to conjure dark purple wind energy at the tip of his wand..

"I thought you were going to use magical attacks, but this works too..!!"

"This is my magic..." Her voice was strange, slightly hissing, but not overpoweringly so. She eyed the tip of his wand, noticing the violet energy. She stepped forward, extending her non-weapon arm off to the side, a bit of gold shooting from her fingertips. The floor beneath them shall be made up of some sort of rock... It felt like a mixture of metamorphic and igneous. Calling to the igneous rock, she added quite a bit of magic to it, creating black lava (Of the least degree of heat) that rose up beneath Cecil's feet. While he was most likely distracted by that, she rushed forward, a kick aimed for behind his knee, and a jab prepared to aim for his ribcage with her weaponsarm. She made sure that she could withdrawn the heat from the molten rock beneath them in an instant, so neither would get too seriously burned.

Cecil would leap as soon as the ground turned hot, mounting a large violet feather to act as a hoverboard. With a certain wave of the wand, a row of lightning pillars would be formed, striking successively in all areas of the room, one row from wall-to-wall at a time, coming towards Hitomi.

Eyes flicking to the newly formed pillars, Hitomi judged in but an instant where each was likely to strike, and so, it was a simple feat to spring from place to place, clenching her hand into a fist, the molten lava beneath them retreating from where she would land. It was quite tiring work, adjusting the tempuratures of the rock that quickly. Taking to the air, Hitomi beat her huge wings to stay aloft, adopting several other traits. One, of course, was the memories barrowed that would allow her to fly wihout too many major mishaps. Another was her echo-location. Spreading her fingers once more, she made as if to blow a kiss to Cecil... Except she never kissed her palm. Instead, when she blew across her palm, it was if she was blowing out a candle. The room plunged itself into darkness.
Hitomi quickly extended her hand to the lava below and concentrated, enough so that multiple portions of it rose up. Tiny fragments started to fly toward Cecil as Hitomi glided in from behind him on silent wings, swinging her bone-armored arm in an arch aimed straight for Cecil's ribcage.
