Lyla's Abilities

Shadow Current: While in the shadows or darkness, Lyla's strength and speed recieve a large upgrade. She can mask her presence while in darkness or shadows. Having no unique energies, pinpointing Lyla's exact location is difficult for those trying to do so.

Energy Sense- Lyla can sense the flow of energy.

ok no problem with any of this except the shadow current. can you please explain in detail how you go into the shadows or darkness and as for being completely masking your presence that won't do. you can be hidden by it but not completely otherwise it's a godhack by just going into shadows saying "ha you can't see me because my presence is completely masked


besides that issue everything else is fine as long as you acknowledge that a higher rank can and probably will overcome those abilities

Well, think like how a ninja can mask their presence in the shadows to keep themselves from being heard, noticed or seen. Something like that. And fine, I can be sensed, but it will be difficult to do so, considering how I possess no unique energies that differeniate from others.

ok as long as it's not 100% success rate that is not accepted at all here so just edit saying you can still be sensed by some but doing so is very hard and all's good with abilities

Miles also it's like the game of find the god-damn needle in the god damn haystack hard right? but it's possible to find....by well focusing and attempting to find a original spot of the energy source but that's why theres the reasons of defensive abilities? But I see nothing wrong here...not one damn thing just don't go overboard....well I know you wouldn't =P

Miles didn't say approve or disapprove, so he's not taking a stance as an admin. Other than that I think 99% of being concealed is fine. But it has to be in umbra (full darkness or the darkest shadow) and not anumbra (or a greyed shadow) So Mile-High Mesa (?) or some atmosphere which is supposed to be "dark" as an area would not suffice as a place to be able to fully be hidden, because they are anumbra, but shadows in that place would count as umbra.

And that darkest darkness thing, that only applies to the masking of her presence, right? >.> picky people

Do realize that all of the things listed under traits do not supersede rank. You may be really flexible, fast, strong, smart, have good hearing and vision and stamina; but that does not mean its superior to those of anyone more than, say 2 ranks above you.

Trust me, I know that already. It doesn't mean its superior, and it doesn't mean it's not superior. Battles aren't won by rank, but how good one can use what they have. High rank means that you know what your doing with what you possess, but if you slip up, even a lower rank can defeat you.

Yes and no. A really really good 7th rank is going to have a nearly impossible to survive fight with an average 3rd rank, regardless of the actual skill. There is a strength difference in play. To roleplay your character really well means getting to those higher levels that much quicker.

But what I'm saying is that if that 3rd rank underestimates a lower rank and does something foolish like trying to stop my blade with their finger or a rock, possibly even not dodge an attack because they believe they can easily block it, then they will be swiftly defeated. Higher rank doesn't give anyone a right to brush off lower rank attacks.

Id lean slightly more towards yes though, because thats what we'd ultimately hope for. But it is true that there are strength differences between the ranks though. But frankly, if you understand that its skill and not always strength that wins battles, youll rank up fast enough for it to be not too much of a problem.

Edit: And that would be why Id lean more towards yes xD.

i already owned up to my mistake admitting it myself to skye targeting me after i owned up to my mistake just takes it unnecessarily farther
